The Trinley Nyingpo
Kyabjé Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche will compassionately be bestowing the Trinley Nyingpo empowerment. This practice pertains to one of the main cycles of teachings in the Chokling Tersar (New Treasures of Chokgyur Lingpa) known as Lamé Tukdrub Barché Künsel, (Accomplishing the Guru’s Wisdom Mind, Dispeller of All Obstacles). The Trinley Nyingpo is the condensed sadhana from this cycle. The chief figure in the practice is Guru Rinpoche, with the sambhogakaya Avalokiteshvara and the dharmakaya Amitabha, surrounded by his twelve emanations. The Trinley Nyingpo is one of the most popular and widely-practiced sadhanas in the Chokling Tersar tradition and is a practice that many people around the world seem to have a strong connection with.
His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche said about this treasure teaching:
The Barché Künsel is the heart essence of the accomplished master Padmasambhava, who perceives the three times in their entirety. It is the quintessence of one billion heart sadhanas of the Guru, the most unique terma buried in the land of Tibet, and it is the first among the Four Cycles of Guru Sadhana. This Accomplishing the Guru’s Wisdom Mind, Dispeller of All Obstacles contains in completeness all the profound key points of the view, meditation, and conduct of the Three Inner Yoga Tantras.
This pure and perfect teaching, which effortlessly bestows, in accordance with one’s wishes, the all-encompassing supreme and common siddhis, temporarily and ultimately, was an unprecedented diffusion of the gemstones of the profound meaning, like opening up the treasury of the universal monarch.

Tukdrub Sampa Lhündrup – Spontaneous Fulfiller of All Wishes
Tukdrub Sampa Lhündrup (Spontaneous Fulfiller of All Wishes) is a blessed teaching given by Guru Rinpoche and revealed by the great treasure revealer Chokgyur Lingpa. This practice is said to be extremely effective in helping oneself and others achieve good fortune and protection from all types of calamities, temporary and ultimate, such as conflict, disease, poverty, obstacle-makers, vicious animals, disturbances of the four natural elements, robbers, sudden death, the intermediate state, clinging to reality, and the sufferings of the six classes of beings.
If we sincerely and wholeheartedly practice Sampa Lhündrub, whether it be the entire sadhana or simply its short prayer or feast offering, just like a wish-fulfilling jewel, all of our temporary and ultimate fears will be cleared away and thus all of one’s aims and wishes will be spontaneously fulfilled without effort.
Moreover, the mass of natural catastrophes, mental suffering, and obstacles facing us in this present age make this blessed practice especially timely and imperative.
Amitayus (Long-life Buddha) Empowerment
Amitayus is the Buddha of Long Life. He is the sambhogakaya aspect of Amitabha Buddha, the Buddha of Limitless Light and Life. Amitayus is depicted as cradling a vase that contains the precious nectar of immortality, amrita, which confers longevity and the leaves of the ashoka tree, which symbolize long life without the misery of disease. Sincere practice and devotion to Amitayus are said to help eliminate all obstacles to long life such as sickness, pain, and untimely death. The practice of Amitayus is especially important because longevity gives us more time and opportunity to practice the Dharma so that we can achieve the ultimate goal of liberation and enlightenment for all beings.
Grand Sang Puja
The practice of Sangchö (cleansing smoke offering) has been widespread throughout Asia for centuries. Renowned as an excellent and easy method to accumulate merit and create auspicious circumstances, it is often performed at the beginning of important events, or by many practitioners as a daily practice.
The cleansing smoke offering is both an offering to our objects of refuge as well as an act of great generosity to all infinite sentient beings. As a result, by making this smoke offering we can gather vast accumulations of merit which will ripen temporarily as happiness and prosperity, and ultimately as perfect enlightenment for the benefit of all beings.
The smoke offering we will be making with Kyabjé Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche comes from the Tukdrub Barché Künsel, a cycle of blessed teachings given by Guru Rinpoche and revealed by the supreme treasure revealer Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa (1829-1870).
Kurukullé Fire Puja – The Lotus Dakini
The dakini Kurukullé, also known as the Lotus Dakini, is the dynamic manifestation of Red Tara. Skilled in magnetizing activity, practicing her can help us gather the conducive circumstances we need for our progress on the path and to fulfill our noble aspirations to benefit others. In essence, Kurukullé is Buddha Prajnaparamita, the mother of all buddhas. As the embodiment of all-discriminating wisdom, she manifests as Pandaravasini, one of the five female buddhas and consort of Buddha Amitayus. Out of her intense love and compassion for beings, she takes the form of the Noble Lady Tara. In her own form as Kurukullé, she holds a bow, arrow, and shackles, drawing in everything we wish for. If we supplicate and practice her sincerely and with a pure heart, her blessings will enter us as swiftly and powerfully as lightning so that all positive conditions for virtue are effortlessly assembled.
Kyabjé Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche will be conducting a magnetizing Kurukullé fire puja, a powerful and effective method for purifying obstacles and fulfilling wishes. To participate in this fire puja will help increase one’s merit and magnetize positive conditions, and in particular for practitioners it will help enhance one’s spiritual progress. Everyone is invited to attend this precious occassion.
Lama Norlha
Lama Norlha (also known as Dzambhala) is a deity specifically associated with wealth and prosperity. Kyabjé Chokling Rinpoche will be bestowing the empowerment for a particularly blessed emanation of Lama Norlha known as Kyechok Tsülzang.
The cycle of teachings renowned as Accomplishing the Guru’s Wisdom Mind, Dispeller of All Obstacles (Lamé Tukdrub Barché Künsel) from the Profound Treasures of Chokgyur Lingpa contains a mandala of twelve emanations of Guru Rinpoche. One of these blessed emanations is Kyechok Tsülzang, the manifestation of Guru Rinpoche in the form of the wealth deity, Lama Norlha. The late Kyabjé Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche described this precious cycle of teachings as follows:
The Barché Künsel is the heart essence of the accomplished master Padmasambhava who perceives the three times in their entirety. It is the quintessence of one billion heart sadhanas of the Guru, the most unique terma buried in the land of Tibet; and it is the first among the Four Cycles of Guru Sadhana.
The bestower of supreme wishes and accomplishments, Kyechok Tsülzang resides over a retinue of wealth deities from the four enlightened families of Vajra, Ratna, Padma, and Karma. Moreover, he is the embodiment of all the three roots of guru, yidams, and dakinis and hence renowned as the wish-fulfilling jewel.
Guru Rinpoche taught that whoever makes a genuine connection with Kyechok Tsülzang and engages in this practice will be blessed externally with material wealth and comfort, internally with the wealth of happiness, good health, and longevity, and secretly with the ultimate wealth of the wisdom that realizes emptiness.
Khorwa Dongdruk Empowerment
Kyabjé Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche will compassionately bestow the empowerment of Shaker of Samsara From its Depths, a form of Avalokiteshvara, the embodiment of enlightened compassion. This particular sadhana comes from the Chokling Tersar, The New Treasures of Chokgyur Lingpa (1829-1870). It was arranged by Guru Rinpoche himself who explains:
In order to liberate oneself and others from samsara,
I, the Lotus-one, will arrange
This sadhana of Shaker of Samsara From its Depths,
The condensation of many tantras and scriptures,
For the single embodiment of the compassionate activity
Of all the buddhas of the three times,
The tathagata Avalokiteshvara.
Further, Guru Rinpoche says:
“Whoever connects with this Compassionate One (Avalokiteshvara) sadhana will be liberated. It will be practiced by future generations.”
This retreat is therefore a precious opportunity to connect with this blessed sadhana, short and easy to practice, under the guidance of the reincarnation of Chokgyur Lingpa himself.
Vajrasattva of the Secret Essence
The sambhogakaya buddha Vajrasattva is the sovereign of all buddha families and mandalas. He is especially associated with the purification of negative karma and broken samayas and commitments. In the Vajrasattva of the Secret Essence (Sangtik Dorsem), Vajrasattva is practiced as the main yidam deity in union with his consort, Atopa in a single mudra mandala.
This particular Vajrasattva practice comes from one of the profound treasures of the great treasure revealer Chokgyur Lingpa known as the Triple Cycle of the Secret Essence (Sangtik Korsum), which contains a complete set of practices for Vajrasattva, Vajrakilaya, and Yangdak Heruka; the three principal yidams of Guru Rinpoche. Guru Rinpoche, his close disciples and all their emanations practice at least one of these three deities as their personal yidam practice in every lifetime. Hence, whoever receives one of these empowerments will at the very least be blessed with the good karma to meet with Guru Rinpoche and his teachings in every lifetime until reaching enlightenment.
